用“water”竟可以表達(dá)不愉快

        另一個常見的表達(dá)是to hold water（站得住腳；合情合理），事關(guān)一個想法、觀點(diǎn)或論點(diǎn)有力與否。該表達(dá)可能來自測試容器狀況的方法。如果這個容器能裝水，它就是堅(jiān)固的。人們也用這個表達(dá)來描述一個想法或論點(diǎn)。如果這個論點(diǎn)能夠hold water，它就是沒有任何漏洞的，可靠而有說服力的。如果它沒能hold water，那它就是不可靠且無法證明的。
