　　When push comes to shove, only your true friends will still stand by you.

　　當事態(tài)嚴重時，只有真正的朋友還會支持你。

　　push和shove都是推的意思，但是shove的程度要更深一些，表示“用力推”。所以when puch comes toshove這個短語的意思是：“當事態(tài)嚴重或情況危急時”。因此，當美國人說"When push comes to shove,only your true friends will still stand by you."時，他/她要表達的意思就是:"When things becomeworse, only your true friends will support you."、"When you get into trouble, only your truefriends won't betray you."。
