牛奶一直被人們認(rèn)為是很有營(yíng)養(yǎng)的食物，對(duì)于西方人來(lái)說(shuō)，牛奶是他們每天不可缺少的飲品之一。從牛奶中提煉出來(lái)的精華是奶油。習(xí)語(yǔ)中牛奶提取出來(lái)的奶油比喻為“食物的精髓，精華”，即用cream表示the best ofsomething。隨著時(shí)代的發(fā)展，后來(lái)就有了cream of the crop，它不僅僅用來(lái)表示“the best of thecrop”，還可以用來(lái)形容“一個(gè)群體中出類拔萃的人物”。
