get the picture ： to understand the whole situation  對(duì)什么有全部的了解

e.g. <1>After meeting his parents, Julie got the picture about her boyfriend.

             在Julie和他的父母談完了之后，她對(duì)自己的男朋友是什么樣的人就有了了解。

       <2>Once the managers explained all the aspects of the project, I got the picture and understood my role much better.

             在這些經(jīng)理向我們介紹了這個(gè)項(xiàng)目方方面面之后，我就有一個(gè)大概的了解，并且更加明白我應(yīng)該干什么，我的角色是什么。

經(jīng)典對(duì)白:

1. 劇中：He knew what he was doing.
know what somebody is doing / know what you are doing ：you have a lot of experience or a particular plan  很有經(jīng)驗(yàn)，做什么事情心中有數(shù)

e.g. <1>When it comes to planning large events, she knows what she is doing.

                說(shuō)到籌劃大的項(xiàng)目，她是很有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的。

       <2>The team always wins. They really know what they are doing.

a person’s birthright ： something that they are supposed to receive after a parent dies   應(yīng)該繼承的財(cái)產(chǎn)

e.g. <1>As the oldest son, I will get the family farm as a birthright.

              我愿意做老大，我們家的農(nóng)場(chǎng)就該歸我。

       <2>The prodigal son claimed his birthright early and left home.

              那個(gè)浪子提前把他的遺產(chǎn)要走了，然后離開(kāi)了家。
