By painted screen vaguely I dream
Of clouds and waves in the celestial stream.
Awake, I take rosy paper in hand
And send a letter to the fairyland.
Could I write on one leaf
My boundless vernal grief?
I’ve leaned on rails at random in the Farewell Tower
In face of Southern Riverside so far and wide.
The stream divides before our bower.
When shall I see the tears
We shed in bygone years?
