對(duì)于西方人來(lái)講，送禮不像東方人理解的那樣復(fù)雜（complex），條條框框很少。禮物的大小、樣式和種類(lèi)與生意大小沒(méi)有直接的關(guān)系。無(wú)論是買(mǎi)方、賣(mài)方，還是合作伙伴，禮物都代表著彼此間的欣賞和喜愛(ài)（show appreciation）。

語(yǔ)氣輕松自然

拿出禮物前，大方地表示你帶了禮物。語(yǔ)氣一定要輕松自然，用“something”“a little something”“a small gift”這類(lèi)自謙的說(shuō)法代表“禮物”。

了解禮物的贈(zèng)予對(duì)象

禮物不在于形式（presentation），最大的并不代表是最好的。中國(guó)人在接受禮物時(shí)可能更多地去衡量禮物的大小和價(jià)格，而西方人更多地在意禮物被賦予的個(gè)性特色（the individuality）和隱含的意義。禮物的好壞不在于貴重與否，而在于是否合適。親手挑選（hand select）的禮物最有意義。對(duì)于你的明星客戶（star customers）或者你很想結(jié)交的客戶，考慮購(gòu)買(mǎi)一些能夠滿足他們興趣的禮物。

禮物贈(zèng)一人還是送多人？

美國(guó)人通常希望禮物一送出去就被當(dāng)面（the moment）打開(kāi)。看到別人收到禮物時(shí)的表情（expression on the face）對(duì)他們來(lái)說(shuō)是件非?？鞓?lè)的事。因此，通常情況下（common practice）禮物都是當(dāng)面開(kāi)啟，當(dāng)面贊賞。當(dāng)你還不能確認(rèn)贈(zèng)送者是否愿意當(dāng)面打開(kāi)的時(shí)候，你可以禮貌地問(wèn)：“我可以現(xiàn)在打開(kāi)嗎？或者先留著？”
