寒暄　Making Small Talk

寒暄是在友好地閑聊、發(fā)展友誼的同時有意識地建立業(yè)務(wù)關(guān)系、開拓商機。為了給對方留下好印象，你的儀表要整潔、態(tài)度要隨和（easygoing）、談吐要得體。如果雙方事先不認(rèn)識，要先做自我介紹。寒暄的話題不宜過于沉重，也無須刻意表現(xiàn)，自然（be yourself）輕松就好。

☉Hi there.My name is Whitney Johnson.What’s your name?

您好，我叫惠特尼·約翰遜，怎么稱呼您？

注意什么時候該停頓，給別人講話的機會。這樣也可以繼續(xù)深化話題，有利于尋找共同點。

避免冷場，玩笑適宜

幽默和玩笑是拉近人與人之間距離的法寶，但是要有適當(dāng)?shù)姆执?，不要讓對方認(rèn)為是嘲笑。講述某故事也不宜過長，可以跨過背景細(xì)節(jié)（background details），將精彩的部分顯現(xiàn)出來。

☉Looks like you’ve got your hands full there.You need some help?I’ll go ask someone for you.

看起來你好像應(yīng)接不暇。你需要幫忙嗎？我可以叫人來幫你。

☉I went to California once.Loved it！We visited lots of different places.I think the kids liked Disneyland the best.

加利福尼亞我去過一次，很喜歡。我們?nèi)ミ^很多不同的地方。我想孩子們最喜歡的還是迪士尼樂園。

☉I remember a time when meetings wouldn’t last more than ten minutes.

Seems like it takes ten minutes just for everyone to sit down these days.

且聽且問

傾聽并且提問表明你對對方所講的內(nèi)容感興趣，也可以更多地了解對方的背景，同時避免冷場的尷尬。

A：Wow, that's a very demanding job. What do you think is the most challenging aspect of what you do?

轉(zhuǎn)換話題別太快了，允許談話的深入，但如果真的無話可說了，就換個話題。

B：Oh, I don't know. I guess the financial workshops weren't too bad.

A：Yeah, I think I learned a little about finance……So where did you say you were from again?

A：您覺得這個論壇怎么樣？

寒暄絕對不是百無聊賴的搭訕或者簡單的噓寒問暖，要和一個人或一群人聊到一起、打成一片，不僅需要勇氣，還需要技能。出門在外靠朋友，也許聊著聊著就聊出了商機。但也不能目的性太強，閑談還是要以發(fā)展友誼為主，不然別人會以為碰上了推銷員。
