① have no choice but to do sth.表示“沒有別的選擇，非做……不可，只好做某事”，but后的不定式要加to。

He had no choice but to leave. 他只能離開。

I have no choice but to give up the plan. 我別無選擇，只能放棄這項計劃。

They had no choice but to sleep in the open. 他們只好在戶外過夜。

② 如果but前面有動詞do/does/did，but后的不定式不帶to，結(jié)構(gòu)為：主語+do nothing but do sth.，意為“只做了什么，只能做什么”。

She can do nothing but wait. 她只能等待。（不用to wait）

There is nothing to do but walk about the town. 除了在城里到處走走，沒有其他事可做。
