on the tip of my tongue
tip n. 尖端;尖兒;端;
tongue n. 舌;舌頭;
something like a name or word that you know it but cannot remember at a particular moment
something you want to say, but then you decide not to
I've Been Waiting (Lil Peep / iLoveMakonnen / Fall Out Boy)
It's hard to miss you when you are always on the tip of my tongue
(Always on the tip of my tongue)
Examples:
1. It won't take me much time to remember, her name is on the tip of my tongue.
2. Just give me a minute – his birth date is on the tip of my tongue.
3. Sara looked up at me with questions on the tip of her tongue.
Sara
4. Mary was badly annoyed by the behavior of the staff, terrible comments were on the tip of her tongue.
