三八婦女節(jié)的由來

人們在每年3月8日慶祝國際婦女節(jié)。世界各級組織用這一天來表彰女性事業(yè)的發(fā)展，同時也呼吁大家來關注女性和少女所面對的社會、政治和經(jīng)濟問題。在這些問題里，包括了包辦婚姻、性侵犯、貧困和教育的缺乏。

National Women's Day was first celebrated in the United States on February 28th, 1909. The next year, a women's rights leader from Germany suggested the idea of an international celebration.

1909年2月28號，美國人第一次在國內(nèi)慶祝婦女節(jié)。一年后，一位來自德國的女權領袖提出了慶祝國際婦女節(jié)的想法。

More than 1,000,000 people attended events in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland during the first International Women's Day. It took place in 1911.

In 1914, the date for the observance was changed to March 8th in honor of a historic protest for women's rights. 15,000 women marched in New York City on March 8th 1908. They marched to demand better pay, shorter work hours, and the right to vote.

International Women's Day is a public holiday in several countries, they include China, Russia, Bulgaria and Vietnam.
