get a load of sth.直譯過來就是：“得到一堆……”，這個(gè)短語的正確意思是：“仔細(xì)地看，仔細(xì)地聽”。因此，當(dāng)美國人說"Get a load of this!"時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"Listen carefully!"、"Please focus on what I am talking about."。
