[00:17.17]for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame.

它不屬于好逸惡勞或只圖名利享受的人;

[00:23.55]Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things-

[00:28.32]some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor,

[00:33.50]who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.

[00:47.45]For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West;

[00:52.01]endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.

[00:56.50]For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sanh.

[01:05.56]Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life.

[01:14.49]They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions;

[01:19.15]greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.
