One day Mother looked at Tom's shoes and said, “Tom, lock at your shoes. How dirty they are! Youmust clean them.”
一天,媽媽看了湯姆的鞋子說(shuō)道:“湯姆,看看你的鞋子。真臟啊!你得洗洗了。”
“Oh, Mother, but I cleaned them only yesterday,” saidthe boy.
“哦,媽媽?zhuān)晌易蛱靹傁吹陌?”湯姆說(shuō)。
“But they are dirty now, You must clean them again.”
“可是,現(xiàn)在又臟了啊,你要再洗洗。”
“I don't want to clean them today; even if I clean them today, they will be dirty againtomorrow.”
“今天我不想洗;就算今天我洗了,明天還是會(huì)臟的。”
Tom's mother thought for a moment and said, “All right, Don't clean them then.”
湯姆的媽媽想了一會(huì)兒,說(shuō):“好吧,那就不要洗了。”
In the evening Tom came back from school. He was very hungry.
晚上,湯姆放學(xué)回來(lái)。他餓極了。
“Mother, give me something to eat, please,” he said
“媽媽?zhuān)?qǐng)給我些吃的吧。”他說(shuō)。
“You had your breakfast in the morning, Tom, and you had your lunch at school,” his mothersaid, smiling.
“湯姆,你早上吃了早飯,中午又在學(xué)校吃了午餐。”他媽媽笑著說(shuō)。
“I'm hungry again now,” cried the boy.
“我現(xiàn)在又餓了啊。”湯姆叫著。
“Oh, really? But even if I give you something to eat today, you will be hungry again tomorrow.”
“哦?真的?可是就算我今天給你吃了東西,明天你也會(huì)餓的。”
