第22單元 出色的魚(yú)
After a long day of fishing, all the fisherman hadcaught was one small, red salmon. He was about tokill it when the salmon shouted, "Wait, I'm much toosmall!"
漁夫釣了一整天的魚(yú),只釣到一只小小的紅色鮭魚(yú)。他準(zhǔn)備殺魚(yú)時(shí),鮭魚(yú)竟然大叫:“等一下,我還太小啦!”
"Wow, you can talk," the fisherman exclaimed, "What's your name?"
“哇,你會(huì)說(shuō)話呀,”漁夫驚叫道:“你叫什么名字?”
"Rusty," replied the salmon.
“洛斯蒂,”鮭魚(yú)回答。
"Please throw me back into the sea!" The fisherman, not wanting to kill the talking salmon,threw it back into the water.
“請(qǐng)把我丟回海里!”漁夫不想殺一條會(huì)說(shuō)話的魚(yú),便把它丟回水里。
One year later, the man was fishing the same spot when he again caught Rusty!
一年后,這名漁夫在同一個(gè)地方釣魚(yú),竟又釣到洛斯蒂!
"Amazing," exclaimed the fisherman, "What have you been doing since I last caught you?"
"真是意外,"漁夫驚叫道:“上回釣到你以后,你過(guò)得還好嗎?”
"I've been sitting on the wreck of the good ship Titanic writing poetry. I find some of my bestinspiration there."
“我一直待在鐵達(dá)尼號(hào)這艘好船的殘骸上寫(xiě)詩(shī),那里給我的靈感簡(jiǎn)直源源不絕。”
The fisherman read some of the poems, "These are very good. Have you thought aboutpublishing any of them? " he asked. "What about a title? Have you thought of a title for them?"
漁夫讀了幾首詩(shī)后說(shuō)道:“這些詩(shī)很不錯(cuò)啊,你有想過(guò)要出版嗎?”他問(wèn)道:“書(shū)名呢?你有想過(guò)要用什么書(shū)名嗎?”
After some thought the fish remarked, "I'll call them 'Salmon Rusty's Titanic Verses.'"
鮭魚(yú)想了一會(huì)兒說(shuō)道:“我要用‘鮭魚(yú)洛斯蒂的鐵達(dá)尼詩(shī)集’。”
