I was driving down the road when Isaw a group of teenagers holding up signs for a fundraising car wash for their school. Mycar was very dirty, so I pulled over and paid for a car wash and a wax.

我開(kāi)車(chē)沿著路前行，這時(shí)我看到一群學(xué)生舉著洗車(chē)為學(xué)校募集錢(qián)的牌子。我的車(chē)很臟，于是我停下車(chē)，付了洗車(chē)和打蠟的費(fèi)用。

I think that the students had more enthusiasm than car washing skills. Yes, they had hoses,buckets filled with soapy water, and sponges, but they seemed more interested in gettingeach other wet than in getting the dirt off the car. I kept wanting to jump up and say, “Hey,you missed a spot!” but I didn’t.

我覺(jué)得學(xué)生擁有更多的熱情而不是洗車(chē)技巧。是的，他們有水管，還有裝滿(mǎn)肥皂水的桶和海綿，但是他們看上去對(duì)讓彼此渾身都沾上水更感興趣，而不是擦掉車(chē)上的污垢。我想蹦起來(lái)喊道:“嘿，有污點(diǎn)沒(méi)有擦掉!”但是我沒(méi)有那樣做。

After washing the car, they rinsed it and dried it with towels. They also vacuumed the interiorand washed the windows. At least the windows were spotless. Finally, they waxed andpolished the car, and were finished.

洗完車(chē)后，他們沖洗車(chē)并用毛巾擦干。他們還用吸塵器打掃車(chē)的內(nèi)部，并擦洗車(chē)窗。至少玻璃沒(méi)有污點(diǎn)。最后，他們給車(chē)打上蠟并擦亮，洗車(chē)完成了。

I went over to inspect the washed car. All I can say is I’m glad this was a fundraiser to supporttheir school. If these students do as well in their classes as they did on my car, they need allthe education they can get!

我走過(guò)去檢查洗過(guò)的車(chē)。我只能說(shuō)能出錢(qián)資助他們的學(xué)校我很高興。如果這些學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)成績(jī)和洗車(chē)一個(gè)水平，那他們需要全面的教育。
