There was a rose that faded young;
I(yíng) saw its shattered beauty hung
Upon a broken stem.
I(yíng) heard them say, "What need to care
With roses budding everywhere?"
I(yíng) did not answer them.
初綻玫瑰喪芳顏,
凋零斷枝間。
吾聽(tīng)有人言,
“天涯處處玫瑰艷,
何須懷傷感?”
不愿回答吾啞然。
There was a bird, brought down to die;
They said, "A hundred fill the sky-
What reason to be sad?"
There was a girl, whose lover fled;
I(yíng) did not wait, the while they said,
"There's many another lad."
一只鳥(niǎo)兒墜地亡;
有人講,“天空百鳥(niǎo)翔-
何故要悲傷?”
一位姑娘的情人逃亡;
立刻,有人講,
“還有眾多好兒郎。”
