[00:57.77]He went back to Zun-Nun’s residence and reported [01:01.60]"Teacher, nobody’s brave enough to offer more than one chip of silver." [01:06.62]With a wise smile Zun-Nun said, [01:09.14]"Now go to the Gold Shop at the back of this street [01:12.42]and show this to the owner or to the gold trader. [01:15.81]Don’t give your price; just listen how much he will pay for this ring." [01:20.51]The Young man went to the shop mentioned [01:23.36]and returned with a different expression on his face. [01:27.08]He then reported [01:28.83]"Teacher, the traders in the market really didn’t know the value of this ring, [01:33.64]the gold trader offered this ring for one thousand of gold, [01:38.03]and the value of this ring was one thousands times [01:41.53]from what the traders in the market offered. ” [01:44.26]Zun-Nun just smiled subtly and spoke softly, [01:47.55]"That was the answer of your question, my friend. [01:50.06]Someone cannot be valued only from his dress. [01:53.90]The traders in the market give value like that but not for ‘The gold trader’.” [01:59.20]The gold and diamond inside someone only could be seen and valued [02:03.68]if you could look at the inner soul. [02:05.87]It needs heart to see, [02:07.84]and it needs a process. [02:09.81]We cannot see it from the words or attitude. [02:12.76]Many a time what we think is a gold, [02:16.04]is only a brass but a brass is a gold.

我們不能通過(guò)事物的外表來(lái)判斷它的價(jià)值。那些貌似華麗的，往往并沒(méi)什么價(jià)值。而那些看起來(lái)很平常的，卻可能價(jià)值連城。判斷事物如此，判斷人亦是如此。伯樂(lè)選馬，關(guān)注的不是馬的顏色，馬的性別，而是它自身的價(jià)值。

Gold and Diamond

A long time ago, in Egypt lived a famous mystical person named Zun-Nun. A young man came to visit him and asked,"Teacher, I do not understand why people like you when you dress in such a simple way?"

The mystic only smiled and took his ring from one of his fingers, and said:"Young friend, I will answer your question, but first do one thing for me, take this ring and go to the market across this street, can you sell this for one chip of gold?"

Looking at Zun-Nun's dirty ring, the young man became doubtful, "One chip of gold? I am not sure this ring could be sold at that price."

The young man went to the market quickly. He offered the ring to the textile, vegetable, meat, fish traders, and the others. The fact is that no body was willing to pay for a chip of Gold. The gold and diamond inside someone only could be seen and valued if you could look at the inner soul. It needs heart to see, and it needs a process. We cannot see it from the words or attitude. Many a time what we think is a gold, is only a brass but a brass is a gold.

黃金與鉆石

很久以前，在埃及生活著一位著名的神秘人物，他的名字叫做祖南。有一個(gè)年輕人前去拜訪他，問(wèn)道：“老師，我不明白為什么人們喜歡穿著簡(jiǎn)單的您？”

哲人笑而不答，從他的手指上取下戒指，說(shuō)：“我的朋友，我會(huì)回答你的問(wèn)題的，但是，你得先替我做件事情。把這只戒指拿到街對(duì)面的市場(chǎng)上，看看能不能賣(mài)上一塊金子。”

年輕人看了看祖南那枚不太干凈的戒指，心中充滿懷疑：“賣(mài)塊金子？這枚戒指能賣(mài)到那個(gè)價(jià)錢(qián)嗎？”

年輕人很快就來(lái)到了市場(chǎng)。他把這枚戒指介紹給賣(mài)布的、賣(mài)菜的、賣(mài)肉的，賣(mài)魚(yú)的商人和一些其他的人。事實(shí)上沒(méi)有一個(gè)人愿意花金子來(lái)買(mǎi)這枚戒指。年輕人回到了祖南的住處，說(shuō)：“老師，這枚戒指連一塊銀子也沒(méi)有人愿意買(mǎi)。”

祖南睿智地笑了，說(shuō)：“現(xiàn)在你把它拿到街后面的金店，給黃金商人看看。你不要給價(jià)錢(qián)，看看黃金商人會(huì)出多少錢(qián)。”

年輕人去了金店，回來(lái)時(shí)表情與剛才大不相同。他說(shuō)：“老師，市場(chǎng)上的那些商人真的不知道這枚戒指的價(jià)值，黃金商人出價(jià)一千枚金幣，這個(gè)價(jià)是那些市場(chǎng)上的人的一千倍。”

祖南微笑著說(shuō)：“這就是我給你的答案。我們不能只憑一個(gè)人的衣著來(lái)判斷他的價(jià)值，市場(chǎng)上的商人就是這樣，只憑東西的表面樣子來(lái)定價(jià)，而那些黃金商人則恰恰相反。”

只有當(dāng)你接近一個(gè)人的心靈的時(shí)候，才能看見(jiàn)這個(gè)人內(nèi)在的“黃金”與“鉆石”。這需要用心去觀察，而且也需要一個(gè)過(guò)程。我們不能通過(guò)一個(gè)人的言語(yǔ)和態(tài)度來(lái)判斷一個(gè)人的價(jià)值。有許多時(shí)候我們認(rèn)為是金子的東西，只是黃銅而已；而我們認(rèn)為是黃銅的東西，恰恰是金子。
