Catherine: Happy New Year!

凱瑟琳： 新年快樂!

Jay: Uh...I'm a bit confused; New Years was over two weeks ago.

杰： 嗯……我有點搞迷糊了，新年不是在兩個星期前就已經(jīng)過了嗎?

Catherine: You must be kidding! It is Chinese New Year, silly!

凱瑟琳：你在開什么玩笑啊!我是說春節(jié)，你這傻瓜!

Jay: Oh right, it slipped my mind. Why do you celebrate two new years?

杰：喔，對了，我都忘了。你們?yōu)槭裁匆獞c祝兩個新年啊?

Catherine: Chinese new year is according to the lunar calendar. chinese have been celebrating new years in this fashion for thousands of years.

凱瑟琳：春節(jié)是根據(jù)農(nóng)歷而定的。中國人慶祝這個節(jié)日的習(xí)俗已經(jīng)延續(xù)幾千年了。

Jay: I noticed that our company was very empty the past couple of days.

杰：我發(fā)現(xiàn)這幾天我們公司里空蕩蕩的。

Catherine: That is because everyone goes home for Chinese new year; It is a family holiday, not so much a party holiday. Would you like to come to my house for new year's dinner?

凱瑟琳：因為大家都回家過年啦，這是個家庭團聚的日子，不太屬于狂歡的節(jié)日。你想要到我家吃年夜飯嗎?

Jay: Of course. Will you set off firecrackers?

杰： 當然好啊，你們會放鞭炮嗎?

Catherine: Naturally, but the most important thing that we do during new years is to eat! So make sure to bring your appetite!
