百萬(wàn)彩票大獎(jiǎng)得主誕生

 

 

    9月7日，上海世博主題彩票“超級(jí)百萬(wàn)”加獎(jiǎng)活動(dòng)的第二位100萬(wàn)元一等獎(jiǎng)得主產(chǎn)生。對(duì)于中彩票的這位來(lái)說(shuō)，真是一大喜訊啊。我們就只有羨慕的份了。話說(shuō)，在英語(yǔ)里，“中彩票”這個(gè)說(shuō)法要怎么表達(dá)呢？

    其實(shí)英語(yǔ)中要表達(dá)中了彩票頭獎(jiǎng)，地道的說(shuō)法不是win the lottery，而是hit the jackpot。jackpot是什么意思呢？

    在博彩行業(yè)中，jackpot的意思就是prize，像那種常見(jiàn)的老虎機(jī)，幸運(yùn)中獎(jiǎng)?wù)攉@得的錢(qián)財(cái)叫做progressive jackpot：

    A progressive jackpot is a jackpot (highest payoff) for a gaming machine (usually a slot machine or video poker machine) where the value of the jackpot increases a small amount for every game played.
    累積獎(jiǎng)金是玩那種老虎機(jī)或者視頻撲克機(jī)時(shí)，最終大贏家獲得的獎(jiǎng)金。

    看到?jīng)]，“老虎機(jī)”的正確說(shuō)法是slot machine，而不是tiger machine，記住了嗎？
