A Lesson in Life
I am a person who likes to plan and organize. But in Europe, I have learned to be more flexible. Mobile phones allow you to call and say you'll be late, and most of my friends show up 15 to 30 minutes late for every event. In fact, I've started telling them to arrive 30 minutes before I want them to come!! I also like to plan for the future and know what is coming next. But, when I start to do this, I realize these are only my ideas, not God's. Sometimes in life you must be patient and wait on God's timing. That's not easy to do, especially for someone who likes to know what will happen next year...or even tomorrow! Instead, I have to trust that God will show me where to go and what to do. Lately, I've found that God can bring together details very quickly when He chooses to! Yet in my impatience, I often try to guess what's coming, instead of just waiting...and being much less worried and frustrated! This is just one life lesson I've been learning. And I think it will take a whole lifetime to learn it really well!
