An Exciting Experience
I am a big fan of American football. But in Europe, football means kicking around a black and white ball! One weekend last autumn, I discovered an American football game was being played in the city where I live! Along with two of my friends, I found the football game and had a great time watching the two teams play! The team uniforms and the field looked pretty much correct. Yet strangely enough, the crowd was cheering in English! Even though only about 50 people attended the game, they were very excited when the home team scored! I loved seeing an American sport played in a European style...even though it wasn't quite the same! And I was so glad to find a bit of home in my new country. Last summer, I also enjoyed watching two baseball teams play a game...this is another sport that American love and Europeans don't! I do enjoy discussing tennis with my European friends, but I just don't know very much about hockey or soccer (football)! Maybe someday I will learn more about them and enjoy them as much as American sports.
