Dear editors，

Recently，a heated discussion has been held in our class over the phenomenon that high school students tend to listen to MP3 players，and the results are listed as follows．

Students who agree to the phenomenon make up 40 percent of the total．In their opinion，not only does listening to MP3 players show a trend in fashion but also it can refresh you with passionate melodies．Furthermore，they think they can improve their English listening ability with the help of the MP3 player．

However，60 percent of the students are strongly opposed to the use of MP3 players．Apart from their considerably high expenses，MP3 players both do harm to our sense of hearing and affect our study，if they're frequently listened to．

As far as I'm concerned，the MP3 player is a fairly good invention and it is not to blame at all．What really matters is that we students should make proper use of it．See to it that we don't rely on it too much，and the time spent in listening must be moderate．

To sum up，self-discipline is required of every student so as to make good use of MP3 players．If properly used，MP3 players will surely be of great help．
