 言傳不如身教

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on parenting by referring to the saying “Example is better than precept .” You can cite examples to illustrate your point. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

審題立意

1. 導(dǎo)語(yǔ)解讀:要求考生根據(jù)“言傳不如身教”這句話寫(xiě)一篇文章,可以舉例說(shuō)明。

2. 文章立意:父母是孩子一生的老師,言傳身教的重要性不言而喻。言傳指“用言語(yǔ)講解、傳授”;身教指“以行動(dòng)示范”。言傳和身教相比哪一個(gè)更重要呢?應(yīng)該是“言傳不如身教”。

Parents are children’s lifelong teachers. It goes without saying that teaching by example and precept is important. But which one is more important? An old saying gives us the answer, “Example is better than precept.” 1

There was a father who cared a lot about his son’s future and he patiently urged his son to study hard every day but the son never followed his words. Then he came up with a good idea: After that he went to work in the daytime as usual, but when he went back home every day, he began to keep reading in the evening. Gradually, things began to change. The son followed his father’s lead and became increasingly interested in reading and finally formed the habit of learning by himself after school. This story teaches us the truth that example is better than precept. 2

But, there always are some parents who care much about precept and care less about example. Some parents’ words are not matched by their deeds, which has negative effects on children, not to mention playing a good role in parenting. 2

To sum up, parents should try their best to be good examples for their children. Example should be given top priority with precept as supplement and parents’ actions should be consistent with what they say. 3

有一位父親非常重視兒子的前途,他每天耐心地勸告兒子要努力讀書(shū),但是兒子從來(lái)不聽(tīng)。然后,他想出了一個(gè)好主意:從那以后,他白天照常上班,但是每天晚上回來(lái)后他開(kāi)始堅(jiān)持看書(shū)。逐漸地,情況開(kāi)始發(fā)生改變。兒子學(xué)著父親看書(shū),而且對(duì)閱讀越來(lái)越感興趣,最后,他養(yǎng)成了放學(xué)后自學(xué)的習(xí)慣。這個(gè)故事告訴了我們言傳不如身教的道理。

但是,生活中總有一些父母,他們重言傳、輕身教,甚至言行不一。父母言行不一,不但起不到好的教育作用,反而會(huì)產(chǎn)生消極的影響。

總之,父母應(yīng)該給孩子做個(gè)好榜樣,以身教為主,以言傳為輔,努力做到言行一致。
