A Great Year for Halle Berry

It’s already a great year for Halle Berry. She’ll reprise(1) her role as storm in the X-Men Sequel(2), and she’s one of the villains(3) in the new James Bond movie. Meanwhile(4) she’s winning rave(5) reviews for her role opposite Billy Bob Thornton in Monster’s Ball. A role that just won her a Screen Actor’s Guild nomination(6). Berry said she had to fight for this part.

“When I heard them say but you’re the face of Revlon. I thought, but you know, I’ve certainly had my fair share of ups and downs and hard knocks and my looks have never once stopped anyone of those experiences from coming my way.”

Berry has quite a love scene in the film with Billy Bob.

“We didn’t think of it as a sex scene in the movie we approached(7) it as these two characters really getting what they needed more and, they needed that like they needed air to breathe, we really tried to make it about that and not about the fact that we were butt【屁股】naked.”

When asked about talk of an Oscar nomination for Monster’s Ball Halle Berry says it would be such an incredible(8) honor, knowing that the Oscars have eluded(9) black women for so long.
