Broadband VS Dial up

From ABC News Cyber Shake, I’m Michael Barre. What are the advantages(1) to broadband(2) after this? Many homes with PCs use the phone line to go on the Internet.

“About 80% of them are doing it from what we call a dial up experience.”

Analyst TS Kelley with Nielsen Net Ratings.

“When people go to broadband, it’s a matter of them getting audio and video and all sorts of other types of content delivered to them in much quicker fashion【方式】.”

What’s the difference between Cable Broadband and DSL? Kelley says not much, except with DSL.

“It’s like dropping another phone line into the home or utilizing(3) the existing phone line where the cable folks are piggybacking【背負(fù)式運(yùn)輸】their signals for the internet via(4) their cable wires.”

Kelley says there are lots of different services using broadband.

“You can think about new security features(5) and new technology features to your home.”
