2009年度達(dá)爾文獎揭曉

一年一度的達(dá)爾文獎是頒發(fā)給各種最愚蠢的死亡事件中死去的人，用來表彰他們用除掉自己的方式來幫助整個人類進(jìn)化，所以這個獎項是用進(jìn)化論之父達(dá)爾文的名字命名的。

　　Darwin Awards Named in honor of Charles Darwin, the father of evolution, the Darwin Awards commemorate those who improve our gene pool by removing themselves from it。

　　達(dá)爾文獎是用查爾斯·達(dá)爾文這位進(jìn)化論之父的名字命名的，達(dá)爾文獎表彰的是那些用把自己除掉的方法幫助人類進(jìn)化的人。換句話說，達(dá)爾文獎是頒發(fā)給以愚蠢的方式死去的人們。

　　The city of Dinant is the backdrop for this rare Double Darwin Award. Two bankrobbers attempting to make a sizeable with drawal from an ATM died when they overestimated the quantity of dynamite needed for the explosion. The blast demolished the building the bankwas housed in. Nobody else was in the building at the time of the attack。

　　本次該獎項很難得的由兩個人獲得，事情發(fā)生在比利時的迪南市。兩個銀行劫匪打算用炸藥把銀行的ATM 機炸垮，結(jié)果他們帶了太多的炸藥，不只炸垮的ATM，連帶把銀行所在的大樓都炸毀了。除了他們兩個人之外，當(dāng)時大樓里沒有其他人。他們倆就這么死了。

　　Robber One was rushed to the hospital with severe head trauma; he died shortly after arrival. Investigators initially assumed that his accomplice had managed a getaway, but the second bungler's body was excavated from the debris twelve hours later. Would-be Robbers One and Two weren't exactly impoverished--their getaway car was a BMW。

　　劫匪甲在事后曾經(jīng)帶著嚴(yán)重的頭部外傷沖進(jìn)醫(yī)院，到醫(yī)院不久后就死了。調(diào)查人員最初認(rèn)為他和他的同伙應(yīng)該有逃跑用的東西，12小時之后，劫匪乙的尸體被從大樓廢墟中挖出，很顯然這兩個家伙并沒有山窮水盡——他們用來逃跑的還是一輛寶馬哩。
