Do you speak English?
I had an amusing experience last year. After I had left a small village in the south of France, I drove on to the next town. On the way, a young man waved to me. I stopped and he asked me for a lift. As soon as he had got into the car, I said good morning to him in French and he replied in the same language. Apart from a few words, I do not know any French at all. Neither of us spoke during the journey. I had nearly reached the town, when the young man suddenly said, very slowly, "Do you speak English? As I soon learnt, he was English himself!

去年我有過一次有趣的經(jīng)歷。在離開法國南部的一個小村莊后，我繼續(xù)駛往下一個城鎮(zhèn)。途中，一個青年人向我招手。我把車停下，他向我提出要求搭車。他一上車，我就用法語向他問早上好，他也同樣用法語回答我。除了個別幾個單詞外，我根本不會法語。旅途中我們誰也沒講話。就要到達那個鎮(zhèn)時，那青年突然開了口，慢慢地說道：“你會講英語嗎？”
我很快了解到，他自己就是個英國人！

動詞后面會加人做賓語

interesting:有意思

★experience n. 經(jīng)歷

經(jīng)驗 : 不可數(shù)名詞:He has a lot of experience.

經(jīng)歷 : 可數(shù)名詞:He has a lot of experiences.

+s(a/an),經(jīng)歷; 原形, 經(jīng)驗

experienced:有經(jīng)驗的

He is an experienced doctor.

★wave v. 招手

wave to sb;向某人招手

★lift n. 搭便車

be動詞+形容詞/介詞

be動詞后面不能是名詞, 一旦是名詞, 就認為主語和后面的名詞是等號關(guān)系

I am a teacher.(對)

I was a lift.(錯)

take a bus/taxi/lift

take a lift:搭便車

I take a lift.

The student gave me a lift.

give sb a lift:讓某人搭便車

B wants to take a lift.

A will give B a lift.

thumb lift :拇指便車(向過路車輛豎起拇指表示要求免費搭車)

I want to take a lift.

★reply v. 回答

answer

作為不及物動詞是一樣的 : He answered/replied.

作為及物動詞就不一樣了 : answer sth/reply to sth.

answer the letter : 回信

I will reply to the letter.回信

★language n. 語言

native language : 母語

mother tongue : 母語(口語)

The native language is Chinese.

My mother tongue is Chinese.

★journey n. 旅行

begin a trip : 開始一個旅行

begin a journey

trip,travel,tour

trip : 短距離旅行或出差(時間或距離上較短)

go on business/go on a trip

travel : 周游(長途)

tour,為了玩

tourist : 游客

journey : 所有的旅行

go on a journey, 3 days' journey(三天路程)

2 hours' journey

voyage : 旅行(海上)

flight : 空中飛行

journey : 偏重于陸地旅行
