近日,北京大學(xué)登山隊(duì)成功登上世界最高峰的峰頂,以慶祝北大建校120周年紀(jì)念日。
Fourteen climbers -- seven students from the Mountaineering Association of Peking University, two teachers and five alumni -- made it to the top of Qomolangma.
成功登頂珠穆朗瑪峰的14名隊(duì)員中,包括了來自北大山鷹社的七名學(xué)生、兩名教師和五名校友。
The youngest was 21 and the oldest 55. They had trained rigorously for two years for their climb to the summit.
其中最年輕的21歲,最年長的55歲。登珠峰前,他們已經(jīng)嚴(yán)格訓(xùn)練了兩年。
Established in 1989, the association has become the most prominent amateur mountaineering club in China.
創(chuàng)建于1989年的北大山鷹社,現(xiàn)在已成為中國最著名的業(yè)余登山社團(tuán)。
In 1998, three members conquered the 8,201-meter Mount Cho Oyu on the China-Nepalborder, as part of the celebration of the university's 100th anniversary.
1998年,三位社團(tuán)成員征服了位于中國與尼泊爾邊境、海拔8201米的卓奧友峰,以此慶祝該校建校100周年紀(jì)念日。
PKU alumnus Huang Nubo, who led the team, said reaching the summit of the mountain was not the only goal.
登山總指揮、北京大學(xué)校友黃怒波說,登頂不是唯一的目標(biāo)。
"It's more important to focus on how the team overcomes difficulties when climbing high, which reflects the spirit of the university," he said.
他表示:“更重要的是團(tuán)隊(duì)在攀登高峰時(shí)如何克服困難,這體現(xiàn)了北大的精神。”
