前CIA駐港官員因持有機(jī)密情報(bào)被捕

A former CIA officer has been arrested for retaining classified information, the US Department of Justice said on Tuesday.

美國(guó)司法部(DoJ)周二表示，一名前中央情報(bào)局(CIA)官員因保留機(jī)密情報(bào)被逮捕。

Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 53, a naturalised US citizen, was arrested on Monday on his arrival in New York after FBI agents discovered he was in unauthorised possession of classified information years after he left the intelligence service.

周一，53歲的歸化美國(guó)公民Jerry Chun Shing Lee在抵達(dá)紐約時(shí)被逮捕。此前，美國(guó)聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局(FBI)發(fā)現(xiàn)，他在離開CIA多年后在未獲授權(quán)的情況下持有機(jī)密情報(bào)。

Mr Lee began working for the CIA in 1994 as a case officer and held a Top Secret clearance before he left the service in 2007. He has been living in Hong Kong.

Lee從1994年開始在CIA擔(dān)任案件官員，在2007年離開CIA之前擁有接觸絕密級(jí)(Top Secret)情報(bào)的權(quán)限。他一直居住在香港。

Court-authorised FBI searches of Mr Lee’s hotel rooms during stays in Hawaii and Virginia found “two small books containing handwritten notes that contained classified information, including but not limited to, true names and phone numbers of assets and covert CIA employees, operational notes from asset meetings, operational meeting locations and locations of covert facilities,” the DoJ statement said.

美國(guó)司法部發(fā)表聲明稱，F(xiàn)BI在得到法庭授權(quán)后，對(duì)Lee在夏威夷和弗吉尼亞州逗留期間的酒店房間進(jìn)行了搜查，發(fā)現(xiàn)“兩本里面有手寫筆記的小冊(cè)子，筆記內(nèi)容包含機(jī)密情報(bào)，包括但不限于線人和秘密CIA雇員的真實(shí)姓名和電話號(hào)碼、線人會(huì)議的行動(dòng)筆記、行動(dòng)會(huì)議地點(diǎn)和秘密設(shè)施的地點(diǎn)。”

If convicted, Mr Lee faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

如果罪名成立，Lee會(huì)被判處最高10年監(jiān)禁。
