在國際貿(mào)易中，通常有四種常用的支付方式，它們是先款后貨、跟單信用證、跟單托收和先貨后款。

先款后貨是指買方在賣方運輸貨物之前先付款給賣方。本支付方式要求買方對賣方的按合約交貨能力具有高度的信任，這是因為，它向賣方提供最大安全，但向買方提供了最大風(fēng)險。信用證是指銀行（開證行）根據(jù)進口人（開證人）的請求和指示向出口人（受益人）開立的一定金額的、并在一定期限內(nèi)憑規(guī)定的單據(jù)承諾付款的書面文件。憑信用證付款是我國對外貿(mào)易中最常用的付款方式。跟單托收是指銀行根據(jù)委托人提交的指示書，處理金融單據(jù)或商業(yè)單據(jù)，以獲得付款或承兌交單，或按照其他條件交單。賣方發(fā)運貨物給買方，但通過銀行發(fā)送包括貨權(quán)單據(jù)在內(nèi)的單據(jù)，指示銀行只有在買方付款的情況下才將單據(jù)交給買方。托收可能提供幾乎相同的風(fēng)險，但是賣方面臨的風(fēng)險可能比買方要大，因為買方可以拒絕提貨。先貨后款指買方承諾在發(fā)貨后的指定時間內(nèi)，支付貨款給賣方。賣方因此而完全依仗買方的支付貨款能力和意愿，所以，它給買方帶來最小風(fēng)險，但給賣方帶來最大風(fēng)險。

B：Oh, they're very flexible. The only requirement is an advance payment of twenty five percent before delivery.

A：And when is the balance due?

B：Upon installation of the equipment, for the cash option.

A：I see. What other options are there?

B：We offer financing.

A：How does that work?

B：You pay the advance, and the balance is paid off over a period of twelve months.

A：At what rate?

B：Eleven percent. It's very reasonable.

A：Actually, that seems high. With the cash option, do you mean only cash, or will you take other forms of payment?

B：We would also accept a certified check or a direct bank remittance.

balance的所有解釋中我們最常見的是名詞形式，表示“平衡”，而在對話中是它的另外一種名詞解釋，表示“余額”。

A：But as the world market is inactive recently, business is no longer as easy as it was. We hope that you would bend a little to allow us to pay by D/A or D/P.

B：Payment through collection is risky to the exporter.

A：We have done some business with other companies on collection basis, so they can prove to you our credit.

B：OK. In order to conclude this transaction, we agree to your proposal.

A：Thank you very much. Then what else do you require?

B：You're required to present the full set of documents to the bank for negotiation within the time allowed.

A：Sure. I'll do it.Call it a day .

A：你們能不能接受托收的方式付款。

今天就到這兒吧。

Call it a day.是個典型的英語俚語，常常用于宣布結(jié)束一天的工作，且暗示對工作績效表示滿意，意思是今天就知道這里為止，可以休息了。也有可能是由于工作超過了平日工作的時間，覺得做得已經(jīng)夠多了，急于收工。例如：It's late, and we're hungry. Let's call it a day and continue the work tomorrow morning.（太晚了，我們還餓著，今天就到此為止吧，明早再接著干。）
