職場心經(jīng)

當(dāng)意外情況發(fā)生,從而導(dǎo)致原定的計(jì)劃不能照常實(shí)施時(shí),當(dāng)事人應(yīng)該第一時(shí)間給對(duì)方打電話或通過其他方式通知對(duì)方。

通知對(duì)方時(shí)不能只是簡單地告訴對(duì)方自己打算改變計(jì)劃,還應(yīng)將緣由告知對(duì)方。并就新的約會(huì)時(shí)間和地點(diǎn)等信息與對(duì)方進(jìn)行商定和確認(rèn)。對(duì)于改變計(jì)劃給對(duì)方帶來的影響應(yīng)該向?qū)Ψ降狼浮?/p>

1.表示贊同(=That's right),意為“對(duì)”“正是如此”。如:

A:So she's going to marry the doctor.

B:That's it.正是這樣。

2.表示找到了問題的癥結(jié)所在,意為“問題就在這里”。如:

A:We're in great need of a computer.

我們急需要買臺(tái)電腦。

B:Yes, but we haven't got enough money.

是的,但我們沒有足夠的錢。

3.表示結(jié)束,意為“完了”“就這樣”“沒有別的了”。如:

You can have a cake and that's it.

你可以吃一塊蛋糕,別的就沒有了。

That's it; I don't like you any more, and you really make me sick.

就是這樣,我不喜歡你了,你實(shí)在讓我惡心。

4.表示反感或失望,意為“夠了”“行了”“得了”“好了”“算了”。如:

That's it. Haven't you said enough?

場景應(yīng)用

史密斯先生有急事,不得不更改與布朗先生的約會(huì)時(shí)間。而布朗先生的時(shí)間比較靈活,很爽快地答應(yīng)了對(duì)方。

A:Hi, Mr. Brown. This is John Smith speaking.

B:Hi, Mr. Smith. How are you doing?

A:Fine, thank you. Mr. Brown, to my disappointment, can we reschedule our date? There's an emergency and I can't make it on Friday.

B:No problem. When can we meet?

A:How about next Monday at the same time?

B:Suits me fine. My schedule is flexible.

A:Great. I'll see you at ten next Monday morning in your office.

B:All right, Mr. Smith.

“to+one's+情感名詞”是英語中一個(gè)十分有用的結(jié)構(gòu),主要表示某人由于某事的發(fā)生而喚起其內(nèi)心的某種情感,通常譯為“令某人……的是”“使某人感到……的是”。這類結(jié)構(gòu)在學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)應(yīng)弄清以下幾個(gè)方面。能用于該結(jié)構(gòu)的名詞非常有限,常見的有admiration(羨慕),amazement(驚奇),amusement(娛樂),annoyance(煩惱),astonishment(驚奇),delight(欣喜),despair(絕望),disappointment(失望),embarrassment(難堪),happiness(幸福),horror(恐怖),joy(高興),puzzlement(疑惑),regret(遺憾),relief(放心),satisfaction(滿意),shame(羞愧),sorrow(悲傷),surprise(驚訝)等。例如:

To my amazement, he arrived on time.

B:I see.

A:And the trouble is that he's over from America. I can't very well put him off. Hope you can understand.

B:Well, I suppose so.

A:But, could it be postponed, if possible, till Tuesday?

B:Oh, let me check it. No, Tuesday's not a good day. Friday would be all right, I think.

A:Friday's OK for me too. Oh, good. Shall we say the same time as we'd arranged?

B:Yes, fine.

A:Thanks, Mr. Wu. Hope I haven't messed up your arrangements too much.

B:Oh, no, these things happen, don't they? See you next Friday.

A:Bye.
