This morning I'd like to share a sentence pattern with you which is : S order that S should do. In this sentence, "order" means " to use your position of authority to tell somebody to do something or say that something mus happen". 譯為：要求，指揮，命令。That S should do. 是賓語(yǔ)從句，謂語(yǔ)是should + 動(dòng)詞原形，可見(jiàn)這里使用了虛擬語(yǔ)氣。凡是含有賓語(yǔ)從句的復(fù)合句中的主句中謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞是order, 且其作為“give instructions”下達(dá)命令這個(gè)意思的話，后面跟的賓語(yǔ)從句要用虛擬語(yǔ)氣。此外，引導(dǎo)詞that和情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should可以省略。注意了如果不是這個(gè)意思，就不能使用虛擬語(yǔ)氣。

【例句及點(diǎn)評(píng)】

Let's look at some example sentences. The officer ordered they fire. 軍官命令他們開(kāi)火。注意這句話從句中省略了引導(dǎo)詞that 和謂語(yǔ)中的情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should, 因此fire這里使用其原形，不要因?yàn)榭吹街骶涫莖rdered，使用的是一般過(guò)去式，就認(rèn)為從句中也要用一般過(guò)去式，就使用fired。They ordered for every tree cut down two more trees be planted. 他們要求每砍一棵樹(shù)就要補(bǔ)栽兩棵樹(shù)。這里要注意從句中省略了引導(dǎo)詞that和謂語(yǔ)中的情態(tài)動(dòng)詞should，所以cut 和 be使用的是其原形。

Alright , except for "order" we have a word which is exactly similar to it. What's it? Let's look at the following sentence: He commanded that his men should retreat. Have you found it? It is : command which means"(of somebody in a position of authority) tell somebody to do something". 譯為：(掌權(quán)者)命令某人做某事。So we should use subjunctive in an objective clause that follows it. For example: She commanded the prisoner be released. 她命令釋放那個(gè)犯人。
