A Ukrainian satirist who plays a fictional president on television is on course to win the first round of Ukraine's presidential election, and to compete against the real president in next month's run-off. Exit polls give Volodymyr Zelenskiy a clear lead over the incumbent Petro Poroshenko. Mr.Zelenskiy said he was very happy but this was just the first step. Mr.Poroshenko called the current result a harsh lesson.

Preliminary results in local elections in Turkey suggest president Recep Tayyip Erdo?an's AK parti(The Justice and Development Party, abbreviated officially AK Parti in Turkish) could lose control over the two main cities Ankara and Istanbul . There has been public discontent with president Erdo?an because of soaring inflation, a collapsing currency and recession.
