Well, I'm thumbing through the Atlantic Monthly, and my wife is reading a novel. 那個，我在翻看《大西洋月刊》，而我妻子在讀小說。

A novel, "novel," is a fictional book — a book that is not a true story. 小說(novel)是虛構(gòu)類書籍——不是在講真實(shí)故事的書籍。

"At around 9," that is at nine p.m., "I remember that tomorrow is trash day." “At around 9，”也就是晚上9點(diǎn)鐘，“我想起了明天是倒垃圾的日子。”

Trash, "trash," is anything that you are getting rid of — that you are throwing out — that you don't want anymore, 垃圾(trash)是任何你想處理掉的東西——你要扔掉的東西——你不再想要的東西，

and trash day is the day that the garbage trucks come by and take the trash away. 垃圾日就是垃圾車過來把垃圾運(yùn)走的日子。

Now, in Los Angeles we have a public trash service, 現(xiàn)在，在洛杉磯我們有一項(xiàng)公共垃圾服務(wù)，
