Now, "My old roommate"--the person I used to share an apartment with--"used to like the terrible buzzer you find on most alarm clocks." 現(xiàn)在，“我以前的室友”——曾跟我住一間屋子的人——“喜歡那種很吵的鬧鈴”。

This, again, is true. I had a roommate that had a very loud and bad sounding buzzer; it was a terrible buzzer. 這也是真的。我曾經(jīng)有一個(gè)室友，他有一個(gè)很吵很煩人的蜂鳴器;真的很討厭。

The buzzer, "buzzer," is when the alarm clock doesn't play music, but it just plays a sound. 蜂鳴器，“buzzer”是指鬧鐘不播放音樂而只是發(fā)出噪音。

Sometimes it is like a bell ringing; that's the buzzer. Well, this buzzer "always used to drive me nuts" 有時(shí)候它像搖鈴的聲音;那就是蜂鳴器。這個(gè)蜂鳴器“經(jīng)常會(huì)把我逼瘋”。

To drive someone nuts, "nuts," means to drive them crazy--to make them crazy--to make them go crazy. 把某人逼瘋，“nuts”是指讓某人發(fā)狂——讓他們瘋狂——讓他們失控。

I continue the story by saying, "As I was saying" 接下來我在故事中說道“正如我所說的”。

We use that expression, as I was saying, when we are talking about one thing then we start talking about a second thing, 當(dāng)我們說了一件事之后又說另一件事，

and now we want to go back and talk about the first thing again. 但現(xiàn)在又回去說第一件事時(shí)，我們會(huì)用“as I was saying”這個(gè)表達(dá)。

So, when you interrupt yourself when you are talking, and then you change the topic-- 所以，如果你在說話的時(shí)候中斷了，你改變了話題——

change what you are talking about--and then want to go back to your original topic, you say, "As I was saying" 改變你所說的內(nèi)容——然后你又要回去說你之前在說的事情，你就可以說“as I was saying”。

"As I was saying, I sometimes wake up before the alarm, usually because of some noise outside the house." “我說過，有時(shí)候我會(huì)在鬧鈴響之前醒來，一般是因?yàn)槲萃獾囊恍┰胍?rdquo;。
