Scheduled Lunar Eclipse

A listener called the disc jockey on the air at our radio station to ask about the upcoming lunar eclipse. “The eclipse can be seen at 1:30 in the morning,” the DJ told her. “That late?” the listener snapped. “I don’t know why they don’t schedule these things earlier, so kids can enjoy them too!”

【詞匯講解】

1.schedule安排。 The secretary is trying to schedule the month's appointments.秘書(shū)正在設(shè)法安排這個(gè)月的約會(huì)。

2.lunar月球的。 May 5th of the a Chinese lunar calendar is the Dragon Boat Festival.陰歷五月初五是中國(guó)的端午節(jié)。

3.eclipse(日、月)食。也可以指“黯然失色”： During the seventies, her acting career was in eclipse.在七十年代, 她的表演生涯黯然失色。
