746　介詞放在句尾的幾種情況

◎ 在下述三種情況下，介詞通常要放在句子的尾部。

① 在由who，what，which等引導的特殊疑問句中。

Whom did he send the letter to？他把信寄給誰了？

Where did he come from？他從哪里來？

② 在不定式短語作定語的句子中。

There is nothing to be afraid of. 沒有什么可怕的東西。

He wants to get a pen to write a note with. 他想找一支鋼筆寫個便條。

Has she found a house to live in？她找到房子住了嗎？

③ 在無關系代詞或以that引導的定語從句中。

Water is something we can't do without. 我們不能沒有水。

He is a man （that）you must be on guard against. 他這個人你必須提防。
