① expect是及物動(dòng)詞,表示“期待,盼望,預(yù)計(jì)”,常用詞。結(jié)構(gòu)為:

expect sb. to do sth.
expect+賓語(yǔ)+補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)
I expected her at eleven,but she didn't turn up. 我預(yù)計(jì)她11點(diǎn)鐘來(lái),但她沒(méi)來(lái)。
They are expecting rain. 他們盼望著下雨。
They expected to finish the work by Friday. 他們預(yù)計(jì)星期五可以完成這項(xiàng)工作。
I didn't expect you back so soon. 我沒(méi)想到你回來(lái)這么快。
② expect表示“以為,猜想”。結(jié)構(gòu)為:expect+that從句。
I expect (that)the answer is correct. 我以為這個(gè)答復(fù)是正確的。

①expect后不可跟動(dòng)名詞。

②只能說(shuō)expect sb.,不可說(shuō)expect for sb.。

③ anticipate意為“以高興或恐懼的心情期待所想或預(yù)料的事發(fā)生”,其后不可以接不定式。結(jié)構(gòu)為:

anticipate+that從句
He anticipates a wonderful vacation. 他期待著一個(gè)快樂(lè)的假期。
