Curtis: Hi Spencer, I thought we might talk about fashion a little bit. Could you describe to me your style or your fashion sense?

柯蒂斯：斯賓塞，我們來(lái)談?wù)剷r(shí)尚吧。你能給我介紹一下你的著裝風(fēng)格或你的時(shí)尚品味嗎?

Spencer: Well my fashion sense has definitely changed over the last decade. I was kind of recently out of uni and my uni years it was always every night I wanted to look superb. I even dressed up for class, it was, you know, that whatchamacallit a big university, but it was also a very old kind of university where everybody dressed up all the time, very southern, very, you know, let's look good for every kind of occasion. And since graduating from there, I have, you know, entered the real world and I only dress up for work or if I'm going out, which I love dressing up for an occasion. But day-to-day I also love just throwing on a t-shirt and jeans, what about you?

斯賓塞：過(guò)去十年，我的時(shí)尚品味肯定發(fā)生了改變。我已經(jīng)大學(xué)畢業(yè)了，上大學(xué)時(shí)每天晚上我都要讓自己看上去很完美。上課時(shí)我也會(huì)精心打扮，要怎么說(shuō)，我上的是一所大型大學(xué)，也是一所老式大學(xué)，所有人無(wú)論何時(shí)都會(huì)精心打扮，這就是南方的風(fēng)格，就是不管是什么場(chǎng)合都要讓自己看上去處于好狀態(tài)。畢業(yè)以后我步入了現(xiàn)實(shí)世界，我只會(huì)在上班時(shí)打扮一下，或者是我要外出的時(shí)候，我喜歡為一個(gè)場(chǎng)合打扮自己。不過(guò)日常生活的話，我喜歡穿T恤和牛仔褲，你呢?

Curtis: I think for me the most important thing is comfort. So my fashion sense hasn't really changed very much. I would still wear shorts and a t-shirt and sandals almost every day if I could. But because of my job I have to dress up for work. But it's not really comfortable and I feel like it's not really me. Occasionally I do like to wear a suit but maybe once in a long while, not every day.

柯蒂斯：對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)最重要的就是舒適。所以我的時(shí)尚品味沒(méi)有太大變化。如果可以的話，我會(huì)每天都穿短褲、T恤和涼鞋的。但是由于工作原因，我上班時(shí)不得不穿得正式一些?？墒俏矣X(jué)得那樣穿并不舒服，而且我感覺(jué)那都不是我了。偶爾我喜歡穿穿西裝，不過(guò)是很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間才會(huì)穿一次，而不是天天穿。

Spencer: Yeah, it definitely after several, you know, weeks of kind of throwing on the same day-to-day comfortable clothes, and you have one occasion that you go out for and dress up for, it does kind of feel like, you know, oh, I'm worth a million bucks like, you know, looking great, one time you're wearing ... dressed to the nines, wearing all your best clothes.

斯賓塞：對(duì)，在連著好幾個(gè)星期都穿著日常的舒適衣服以后，你要出席一個(gè)場(chǎng)合，然后為此精心打扮，那會(huì)讓你感覺(jué)自己有100萬(wàn)美元的身價(jià)，因?yàn)榇虬缫院罂瓷先シ浅２诲e(cuò)，盛裝打扮，穿上最好的衣服。

Curtis: Right. At the same time if I do dress up I want the most comfortable clothes I can get to dress up in, like I want shoes that look nice. But to me, looking comfortable looks nice. If I see people who don't look comfortable in what they're wearing I don't think they look very good. So sometimes I see people with really tall heels for example and people might say, "Oh, this looks so nice." But I just, I feel like they must be painful, it must be really hard to wear and to walk in.

柯蒂斯：沒(méi)錯(cuò)。我在精心打扮時(shí)，我想穿上最舒適的衣服，我想穿上看上去很美的鞋子。對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)，看上去舒服就是看上去很好。如果我看到有人的穿著看上去讓人不舒服，那我就會(huì)認(rèn)為他們的穿著不太好。有時(shí)我會(huì)看到穿很高的高跟鞋的人，其他人可能會(huì)說(shuō)：“哦，這真好看。”可是我感覺(jué)那一定很痛苦，那一定很難穿，而且不方便走路。

Spencer: That's so true, I hate heels, I cannot wear heels. Half of it's confidence though, like I don't like being particularly taller than a lot of people, it just kind of makes me unconfident. But every now and then like you see a really tall person wearing a pair of heels, and you know, shoulders high like super, super confident and they look great. But also it is painful after several hours of wearing heels if you're walking around a bit.

斯賓塞：沒(méi)錯(cuò)。我討厭高跟鞋，我穿不了高跟鞋。雖然高跟鞋可能會(huì)讓人覺(jué)得自信，可是我并不想比大多數(shù)人高，所以那反倒讓我感覺(jué)不自信了。偶爾也會(huì)看到本來(lái)就很高的人穿高跟鞋，肩膀比別人都高就會(huì)顯得超有信心，看上去的確很不錯(cuò)。不過(guò)如果要四處走動(dòng)的話，高跟鞋穿幾個(gè)小時(shí)就會(huì)令人很痛苦。

Curtis: Right. Sometimes I find that with men's dress shoes as well, sometimes they're really narrow and my feet are a little bit wide and so you get these really long and pointed dress shoes that narrow towards the toes. And because of that I have a very hard time finding dress shoes for myself. I have to do a lot of shopping to find a good pair.

柯蒂斯：對(duì)。我發(fā)現(xiàn)有些男生的鞋也很窄，我的腳比較寬，可是有些鞋是那種又長(zhǎng)又尖的形狀，尤其是腳趾那里很窄。所以我很難買(mǎi)到適合我穿的鞋。為了買(mǎi)到一又舒服的鞋，我不得不逛很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間。

Spencer: I got lucky, I have tiny feet, so every time I walk into a shoe store my size happens to be the one that's on display.

斯賓塞：那我比較幸運(yùn)，我的腳很小，每次我去鞋店，我要穿的鞋號(hào)就是他們展示在那里的號(hào)碼。

Curtis: Oh, I see.

柯蒂斯：哦，我知道了。

Spencer: And it's really quite good, yeah. Oh, that looks cute, I can just try it on then and there, so yeah, it is good.

斯賓塞：這非常不錯(cuò)。“哦，那雙鞋看起來(lái)好可愛(ài)”，那我就可以直接試穿，這很不錯(cuò)。
