Early this month, a 12-year-old boy successfully underwent a heart transplant surgery at Anzhen Hospital in Beijing. The organ is donated by an adult, who died of brain cancer in Guangxi. In just six hours, medical teams managed to fly the heart from Guangxi, in south China, to Beijing, in north China. This was the first time, that an air ambulance was used in China to transfer a human organ.
