沙子和石頭
The story goes that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friendslapped the other one in the face.
兩個(gè)朋友在荒漠里穿行,途中他們發(fā)生了爭(zhēng)執(zhí)，其中一個(gè)人扇了另一位一個(gè)耳光。 被打的人非常傷心，但他什么也沒(méi)說(shuō)，只是在沙地上寫道：“今天，我最好的朋友打了我一個(gè)耳光。”
The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:“Today my best friend slapped me in the face.”
他們繼續(xù)往前走，發(fā)現(xiàn)了一片綠洲，他們決定在那里洗個(gè)澡。結(jié)果，被打的那位陷進(jìn)了泥潭，眼看就要被淹死,但他的朋友救了他。
They kept on walking until they found an oasis，where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
恢復(fù)過(guò)來(lái)后，他在石頭上寫道：“今天，我最好的朋友救了我的命。”
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone：“Today my best friend saved my life.”
他的朋友問(wèn)：“為什么我傷害你時(shí)，你把字寫在沙地上，而現(xiàn)在卻把字刻在石頭上呢?”
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now you write on a stone. Why?”
被救的那位答道：“受到傷害時(shí)，我們應(yīng)該把它記在沙地上，寬恕之風(fēng)會(huì)將其抹平?？墒苋硕骰輹r(shí)，我們應(yīng)該把它刻在石頭上，任何風(fēng)雨也不會(huì)把它擦掉。”
The other friend replied： “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”
我們應(yīng)該學(xué)會(huì)將所受的傷害寫在沙子上,把所得的恩澤刻在石頭上。
Learn to write your hurts in the sand and to carve your benefits in stone.
