There are no less than 30 lakes named “West Lake” in China. But the West Lake in Hangzhou is the best known of them all. It is located in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province on the southeastern coast, and the city is known as the Paradise of the World in China.
在中國(guó)，以“西湖”命名的湖泊不下30個(gè)。但是真正稱得上家喻戶曉的只有杭州的西湖。它位于中國(guó)的東南沿岸，浙江省的省會(huì)杭州。一座在國(guó)內(nèi)被譽(yù)為人間天堂的城市。
Thousands of years ago, the West Lake was connected to the sea. The Qiantang River, not far away from the West Lake enters the sea in the eastern part of area. Sediment deposited by the river eventually blocked the connection between the West Lake and the sea, making it an inland water feature.
數(shù)千年前，西湖曾與大海相連，不遠(yuǎn)處的錢(qián)塘江正是在這片水域的東部流入大海。江水帶來(lái)的泥沙不斷淤積，最終阻隔了西湖和大海的聯(lián)系。讓這里成為了內(nèi)陸湖泊。
Since the 9th century A,D., the beautiful scenery of the West Lake in all seasons has appeared time and again in poems, stories and legends, it`s roughly estimated there are about 630 legends of the West Lake alone.
自公元9世紀(jì)以來(lái)，西湖美景在四季輪轉(zhuǎn)中裝載了越來(lái)越多的詩(shī)篇，故事與傳說(shuō)。據(jù)不完全統(tǒng)計(jì)，僅西湖的傳說(shuō)就有約六百三十余個(gè)。
In 2011 West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou was included on the World Heritage List. It is visited by an endless stream of international tourists. Perhaps some of them will add their own stories to West Lake`s wealth of literature.
在2011年，杭州西湖文化景觀被列入世界遺產(chǎn)名錄，慕名而來(lái)的國(guó)際游客絡(luò)繹不絕。也許他們將為西湖續(xù)寫(xiě)更為多元化的故事。
