CNN News:美國(guó)向敘利亞增派250名士兵打擊IS

An increase of U.S. troops. President Obama made the announcement yesterday. There are 50 U.S. troops currently in Syria. As many as 250 additional forces are on the way for a total of 300.

昨日，美國(guó)總統(tǒng)奧巴馬布將向敘利亞增派250名軍事人員，以幫助敘溫和派反政府武裝打擊極端組織“伊斯蘭國(guó)”。美國(guó)此前派駐敘利亞的一支50人特種部隊(duì)。

Why this is significant? For one thing, it`s an addition to the U.S.-led airstrikes against the ISIS terrorist group in Syria. The president says the Americas will be training and helping local forces who are fighting ISIS and that the American troops will build on the momentum that the local forces have gained on the ground in Syria.

為什么這具有重要的意義呢?首先，是要增援美國(guó)對(duì)敘利亞的伊斯蘭國(guó)恐怖組織的空襲。奧巴馬稱美國(guó)將訓(xùn)練并幫助當(dāng)?shù)夭筷?duì)對(duì)抗ISIS，同時(shí)要幫助當(dāng)?shù)夭筷?duì)奪回伊斯蘭國(guó)占領(lǐng)的領(lǐng)土。

The critics say 300 U.S. troops isn`t enough to effectively defeat ISIS and that the increase goes against a promise that President Obama made in 2013 when he said no U.S. boots would be on the ground in the fight. The White House says U.S. forces will not have a combat role.

批評(píng)人士稱，300名軍事人員并不足以有效對(duì)抗伊斯蘭國(guó)，同時(shí)在敘利亞增加兵力違背了奧巴馬總統(tǒng)在2013年作出的承若：美國(guó)軍隊(duì)將不會(huì)參與敘利亞地面作戰(zhàn)。但是白宮稱美國(guó)軍隊(duì)并不會(huì)扮演作戰(zhàn)角色。

Trains are running again at the Maalbeek metro station in the capital in Belgium. Until yesterday, they`ve been shut down following terrorist attacks there ended the Brussels airport on March 22nd.

The bombings killed more than 30 people at the two sites, hundreds of others were wounded, the full reopening of the station is seen as another symbolic step toward healing.
