I put it on, to try it, and it weighed me down like ahamper, being uncommonly shaggy and thick, and Ithought a little damp,

我把它穿起來(lái),試一試看,它又毛又厚,壓在身上有如鐐銬一樣重,還感到有點(diǎn)濕濡濡的,

as though this mysterious harpooneer had beenwearing it of a rainy day.

好象被這個(gè)神秘的標(biāo)槍手在雨天穿過(guò)。

I went up in it to a bit of glass stuck against the wall,and I never saw such a sight in my life.

我穿著它,走到釘在墻上的一面破鏡子跟前,呵,這副怪相我有生以來(lái)從沒(méi)有看到過(guò)。

I tore myself out of it in such a hurry that I gave myself a kink in the neck.

我慌不迭地把它脫下來(lái),連脖子都扭了一下。

I sat down on the side of the bed, and commenced thinking about this head-peddlingharpooneer, and his door mat.

我在床沿上坐下,開(kāi)始想起這個(gè)販賣(mài)人頭的標(biāo)槍手,和他那塊門(mén)毯。

After thinking some time on the bed-side, I got up and took off my monkey jacket, and thenstood in the middle of the room thinking.

坐在床沿上想了一會(huì)后,我又站起來(lái),脫掉短外衣,站在屋子中間想。

I then took off my coat, and thought a little more in my shirt sleeves.

后來(lái),我脫掉上衣,只穿著襯衫又再想了一陣。

But beginning to feel very cold now, half undressed as I was, and remembering what thelandlord said about the harpooneer's not coming home at all that night,

但是,這時(shí)因?yàn)槲野焉仙淼囊路济摰袅?開(kāi)始覺(jué)得冷起來(lái),我又想起剛才店老板說(shuō)過(guò),

it being so very late, I made no more ado, but jumped out of my pantaloons and boots,

時(shí)間已經(jīng)很晚,今兒晚上那個(gè)標(biāo)槍手料想決計(jì)不會(huì)回來(lái)了,這樣一想,我也就不再多費(fèi)心機(jī),一口氣脫掉褲子,靴子,

and then blowing out the light tumbled into bed, and commended myself to the care of heaven.
