Naturally, you will wish to retire to a safe place toobserve the spectacle.

很自然，你希望退避到一個安全的地方來觀察這個奇觀。

Unfortunately, there is nowhere to retire to becauseoutside the singularity there is no where.

不幸的是，你無處可以退避，因為奇點之外沒有任何地方。

When the universe begins to expand, it won't bespreading out to fill a larger emptiness.

當宇宙開始膨脹的時候，它不會向外擴展，充滿一個更大的空間。

The only space that exists is the space it creates as it goes.

僅有的空間是它一面擴展一面創(chuàng)造的空間。

It is natural but wrong to visualize the singularity as a kind of pregnant dot hanging in a dark,boundless void.

把奇點看成是一個懸在漆黑無邊的虛空中的孕點，這是很自然的，然而是錯誤的。

But there is no space, no darkness.

沒有空間，沒有黑暗。

The singularity has no "around" around it.

奇點四周沒有四周。

There is no space for it to occupy, no place for it to be.

那里沒有空間供它去占有，沒有地方供它去存在。

We can't even ask how long it has been there, whether it has just lately popped into being, likea good idea,

or whether it has been there forever, quietly awaiting the right moment.",

Time doesn't exist. There is no past for it to emerge from.

And so, from nothing, our universe begins."
