"I heard that," said Mr. Jones, who ran the park. "Perhaps you would like a job?"

"You don't mean it!" said Fox.

Mr. Jones put Fox to work at the Haunted House.

"What's inside?" said Fox.
“里面有什么？”小狐說(shuō)。
"Oh, it's very scary," said Mr. Jones.
“很恐怖的東西，”瓊斯先生說(shuō)。
Fox's first customers were Carmen and her little brother Clark.
小狐第一位客人是卡門和她的弟弟克拉克。
"A ticket for the kid," said Carme.
“一張兒童票，”卡門說(shuō)。
"Aren't you going in?" asked Fox.
“你不一起進(jìn)去嗎？”小狐問(wèn)。
"It's not scary enough," said Carmen.
“里面不夠恐怖，”卡門說(shuō)。
Fox and Carmen waited and waited.
小狐跟卡門等啊等啊。
"What's taking that kid so long?" said Fox.
“他怎么進(jìn)去那么久還不出來(lái)？”小狐說(shuō)。
