5. Excuse, Explanation (1)

1) Let me explain my actions.
   請(qǐng)聽(tīng)我解釋。（讓我自己解釋我的行為。）

2) Will the court acquit him of the crime?
   法庭會(huì)宣判他無(wú)罪釋放嗎？
   *to acquit = to declare (a person) not guilty (of something)
   通常因證據(jù)不足而被判決無(wú)罪釋放。

3) In his defense, he still tried to justify himself.
   為了保護(hù)自己，他一直試圖證明自己（的行為）是正當(dāng)?shù)摹?/P>

4) I can only try to justify what I did.
   我唯有堅(jiān)持自己所做的事是正確的。

5) He is absolved of all blame.
   他從各種的非難中獲得解脫。
   *to absolved = to free from guilt, a duty, etc.
   從不履行責(zé)任或義務(wù)之罪中獲得解脫。近乎 acquit 之意。

6) There has been a great mistake.
   發(fā)生重大的錯(cuò)誤了。

7) Allow me to clear up this confusion.
   容許我澄清這種混淆。
