Franklin could count by twos and tie his shoes. He could reach for the cookie jar without a chair and he could lift a basket of apples with one hand. But one day Franklin wondered if he had what it took to be a hero.
F: Oh no! Koala is struck in quicksand! And he's sinking fast!
S: Ooh, I can't look!
F: But wait! Look up on that mountain!
S: Could it be…!
F: …….It is!
F and S: Yahoo!, it's Dynaroo!
F: Dynaroo quickly reaches into her pouch and pulls out her golden lasso!
S: She's got everything in there!
F: Using her awesome strength, she pulls Koala out of the quicksand with one mighty tug!
S: Yaaaay! She did it again!
F: Dynaroo is the best! She can do anything!
S: I want to be like Dynaroo.
F: Me too. I want to be so strong, I could lift a truck in the air.
S: I want to be faster than a speeding train!
F: Hey, let's pretend we're real rescue heroes! My name can be Turtle-roo.
S: And I can be Dynasnail!
F: Together we'll keep the world safe!
S: Yahoo, it's Dynasnail and Turtleroo!
F: A terrible giant is heading right for the village! Run for your life! Grrrrrrrr!
S: Oh no! Our village is in big trouble! We need help!
F: Alright giant, now you're the one who's in big trouble. Yahoo, it's Dynasnail and Turtleroo! We did it Snail! Snail?
S: I wonder if this ever happens to Dynaroo.
F: I guess even being pretend heroes can be dangerous.
M: Dynasnail and Turtleroo! Your hot chocolate is ready!
F: Do you think Dynaroo's mom would come all the way to the North Pole to deliver hot chocolate?
S: I don't think so.
F: I can carry those Mom.
M: Well isn't that helpful! I'm sure lucky to have Turtleroo for a friend. Thank you Franklin.
F: No problem. Whoa.
M: Those aren't too heavy for you, are they?
F: Mom, I'm Turtleroo. I have super strength.
R: Hey Franklin, isn't it great?!
F: Isn't what great?
R: Didn't you see the poster?!
F: Meet Dynaroo in person!…Wow!
M: Well this is exciting news. She's coming tomorrow to autograph copies of her latest adventure book.
F: I can't believe it! I've got to tell Snail!
R: And Bear! And Beaver. Come on.
F: Here mom. Sorry, I've got to go! Wait up, Rabbit!
F: I can't believe we're really going to meet Dynaroo!
S: I know! I want to see all the rescue stuff she's got in her pouch.
F: Maybe she'd try let me try her golden lasso or her dyno-net.
S: Maybe I could try on her rocket-powered, back-pack.
F: I don't know if you're ready for that kind of speed.
Hey, there's Mrs Muskrat.
MM: What a conundrum!
F: Hi, Mrs Muskrat!
S: Hello Mrs. M!
MM: Franklin? And Snail. Say, would you mind helping me out boys?
I'm in a real pickle and my arms are full of library books.
F: Sure Mrs. Muskrat!
S: What about Dynaroo, Franklin?
F: I know…….but helping neighbours is important………We'll do it fast. Do you want me to open the door for you?
MM: That would be marvelous. But you'll need my key and I've dropped it in the snow.
S: In the snow?
F: Um, where in the snow?
MM: Well, that's a good question. My spectacles got all steamed up and I couldn't see where I dropped it.
S: I've found another pine cone, but no key.
F: I'm not having any luck either.
MM: Whew……I've got to set these down for a minute.
F: What should we do?
S: Let's tell her we'll come back and help her after we've seen Dynaroo.
F: …..I hope she doesn't mind. Uh…Mrs. Muskrat?…we still want to keep helping you and everything …. but…
MM: Ahhhh!
S: Whoa!
MM: Well done Franklin! My goodness, I've never seen anyone move so fast. Where would I be if you two hadn't stopped to help me.
S: Mrs. Muskrat …. your key could take a really long time to find….
MM: You're right Snail. It could take 'til spring and the tip of my tail is going numb. I say we call off the search. We'll have to put our heads together and think of another way to get inside.
S: That looks big enough to do the job, Franklin. Yeah, you'll be able to reach the window for sure now.
F: It's too heavy Snail. I should have made three small ones instead.
S: Come on. You're Turtleroo. You can lift a truck over your head!
F: You're right Snail!…….Errrrrrr
S: You did it Franklin!
MM: My, for a little turtle, you're really strong.
F: Yeah, I am strong.
S: Franklin, we've got to hurry.
F: Oh yeah. Don't worry Snail, I'll have that door unlocked in no ti………urrrrrrr
MM: Oh dear. That window has a bad habit of sticking.
F: Wait, you can still get in, Snail. You unlock the door.
S: But Franklin, the door is so far away and I'm so slow.
F: Come on, you're Dynasnail. You can go faster than a speeding train.
S: You're right. I can do it!
F: Go Dynasnail!
MM: I can taste the hot cocoa already.
R: Hey Franklin! Look what I got at the bookshop! Dynaroo signed it and everything!
F: Is she still there? Please tell me she's still there.
R: Well, she is, but just until three o'clock. Everyone thought you and Snail would be the first in line. Anyway, I have to go. See you Franklin. Bye Mrs. Muskrat.
MM: Goodbye, Rabbit.
F: Please hurry, Snail. The door! You did it, Snail!
S: I have to ……..catch my breath.
F: There's no time Snail. We've got to go! Bye Mrs. Muskrat!
S: See you later. Mrs. M!
MM: Thank you! My little heroes….Oh, dear.
F: We made it! Oh no. she's already gone?
S: I can't believe it.
H: Ah. Franklin and Snail! I've been expecting you.
F: We tried to get here sooner.
S: Yeah, when Dynaroo was still here.
H: Well as a matter of fact, she hasn't left yet.
F: Dynaroo.
H: She didn't want to leave without meeting a couple of our very own village heroes.
F: Us? But we just pretend we're heroes.
H: That's not what I've heard. I received a phone call a short while ago from Mrs. Muskrat. She told me all about your heroic rescue.
F: Heroic rescue?
H: Yes. She was in need of help and you two rose to the challenge. Even though you were in a hurry to come here.
F: But, heroes are really strong.
S: Yeah and really fast.
H: They can be. But more important, heroes are individuals who put the needs of others, ahead of their own. And that's what you did. Ah yes, Dynaroo has something for you.
F: Oh, wow. Your new Jungle Adventure book. Thanks Dynaroo.
