在上期的節(jié)目中我們對(duì)于打電話的口語(yǔ)有了一個(gè)基本的了解,這期節(jié)目我們將繼續(xù)談?wù)撾娫捒谡Z(yǔ)。上期我們談到了叫人電話和對(duì)方付費(fèi)電話。下面我們來(lái)看兩段對(duì)話。
A:Operator.
B:I'd like to make a collect call to Los Angeles.That's area code 213-486-2435.
A:接線員。
B:我想打個(gè)電話到洛杉磯,由對(duì)方付費(fèi)。電話號(hào)碼是213-486-2435。
在上面這段對(duì)話中,collect call意為對(duì)方付費(fèi)電話,對(duì)方同意付通話費(fèi)后才接通電話。接下來(lái)看一段叫人電話。
A:Operator.
B:I want to make a person-to-person call to 212-836-1725.
A:接線員。
B:我要撥一個(gè)叫人電話,號(hào)碼是212-836-1725。
person-to-person call意為叫人電話,只有找到所需的通話人,對(duì)方與打電話的人通話后才收電話費(fèi)。傳呼電話要加收指名費(fèi)。
4.Connecting Someone連線
I'll put you through.
put through是一個(gè)短語(yǔ),意為接通,連接,等于connect。
Can you hold the line?
Can you hold on a moment?
兩句話的意思都是要對(duì)方等待一下,不要掛斷。
5.How to reply when someone is not available當(dāng)某人不在時(shí)怎么回應(yīng)
I'm afraid Mary is not available at the moment非常遺憾,瑪麗現(xiàn)在不在。
Mr Jackson isn't in.../Mr Jackson is out at the moment...杰克遜先生現(xiàn)在不在/出去了。
或者我們可以換種方法,詢(xún)問(wèn)對(duì)方是否過(guò)會(huì)兒打來(lái)或幫忙留口信:
您能過(guò)會(huì)兒再打來(lái)嗎?
Could you call back later?
Would you call again later?
Would you mind calling back later?
能留個(gè)口信嗎?
Can you leave a message?
Can I leave Mr. Smith a message?(能給史密斯先生留個(gè)口信嗎?)
6.最后是掛斷電話了,在掛電話的時(shí)候盡量要做到有禮貌,下面是一些掛電話時(shí)常用語(yǔ)句:
Thanks for calling.在接到對(duì)方電話時(shí),最后用該句結(jié)束電話以示禮貌。
So, I'll see you tomorrow.(那,明天見(jiàn)。)
Thanks for calling.(謝謝您打來(lái)電話。)
Well, I have to get going.(那,我得掛電話了。)
Thank you for your call.(謝謝您來(lái)電話。)
