　　Can you put in a good word for me to get that job?

　　我想得到那份工作，你能幫我美言幾句嗎?

　　put in a good wor for me 直譯為“為我說(shuō)一句好話”，這個(gè)短語(yǔ)的真正意思是：“幫我美言幾句”。因此，當(dāng)美國(guó)人說(shuō):"Can you put in a good word for me to get thatjob?"時(shí)，他要表達(dá)的意思就是:"Can you recomment me for the job?"、"I want to get that job, so can you introduce me to your company?"、"Can you give me some help to get that job?"。
